A Love Live! Fansite

The descriptions written on Susume→Love Live (Story pages, Character pages, School Idol Festival pages, as well as School Idol Project pages) are all written in my own words as they contain my own observations, much of them subjective. The page layouts are of my own design (Wix has templates but I started from a blank). Much of the graphical contents have been edited from their original formats, and their sources will be noted below. If you use my work elsewhere, please give credit where credit is due by linking back to this site as a courtesy. I've spent a lot of effort researching, writing, planning, organizing, arranging, tweaking, and constructing this site (I've converted all numerical stats on the character profile pages from the original metric stats to the imperial numbers you see on the pages); You'd be surprised how much time all of that takes! Even sifting through existing graphics and then editing them take quite a bit of work.

 

The following is the list of sources for this site except where material origins are unclear (e.g. Google search contain multiple possible sources): 

 

Crunchyroll - Majority of screen captures except shrines (I own the first season blu-ray boxed set, but capping off of blu-ray isn't very convenient and I chose to do it off of CR instead to shorten production time. In addition, I needed a very small number of caps from Season 2)

 

Love Live! Wiki - All screen captures on character shrines. The three subgroup album covers (Printemps, lily white, BiBi) as well as the date info of subgroup formation (the rest of the descriptions on the subgroup page is of my own personal interpretations of the meaning behind the subgroups). Screencap of Alisa and Yukiho on family characters' page. All song files on character profile pages as well as subgroup page were converted by me from original .ogg format hosted on Love Live! Wiki to a format playable by the net music player on Susume→Love Live

Why I made this site

 

What's so different about this Love Live fansite is that it's done in the general flavor, or "tradition", of those old-school fansites of the 1990s- Before "social media" like online communities and forums became popular. Back in those days, all the anime fansites are very personal creations- sometimes just involving one and only one fan each; Some of you may remember those Geocities sites. I used to run a number of those kinds of sites years ago, and Susume→Love Live is my first new fansite in almost 20 years.

 

Yes, there are plenty of other sites if you want detailed franchise information. This is not why I made this site; The goal of Susume→Love Live is to create an impression of how great Love Live is! I love Love Live, and I want to show everyone why I love it so much and why it deserves so much love from its fans. If even one person thinks "Hm, maybe I should check this Love Live thing out" after seeing Susume→Love Live then mission accomplished! If you just want some facts, materials, or just a place to gather and chat, then other sites will do and even do it better. However, if you're looking to get just a sweet taste of the goodness that is Love Live, you're in the right place!

 

Firefox + Wix html 5 editor = General wonkiness :(

 

I've no idea why, but the site manages to look fine under Google Chrome and MSIE while coming out wonky in Firefox... I thought this new-fangled html 5 standard is supposed to help things? Maybe it's the editor. I'm going to keep trying, even though what lines something up on one browser messes things up on another...
